Independent Journal Review was reaching tens of millions of readers every month. As the platform grew, its expanding volume of content required a clearer structure, stronger visual identity, and more scalable user experience.
As Senior Designer, I worked closely with the IJR team to define the visual direction, UI, UX, and information architecture.
The redesign introduced a clearer editorial hierarchy, improved content discovery, and a more focused reading experience. A flexible system of layouts and reusable patterns helped organize constantly changing content while keeping the product consistent across the platform.

I designed a modular grid that could accommodate breaking news, video, evergreen stories, and constantly changing editorial priorities without losing hierarchy or consistency.
